I have a Synchrony Bank Care Credit account. I had - six-month no-interest promotional accounts and - 24 month low interest account. I made payments for four months that were sufficient to pay off the six-month accounts on time as well as pay the minimum on the 24 month account. However, Synchrony allocated all of the payments to the 24 month interest bearing account. I noticed this in - and spent over a half hour working with a representative who said she had corrected the problem but she never sent me the promised email confirming this. Then, the - statement arrived and no corrections in payment allocation had been made. I spent another half hour today working with a representative to correct the payment allocation so that the promotional purchases would be paid off in time and the accrued interest would not be charged. The representative indicated that this would be reflected in my on-line account within - hours. The fact that this allocation of payments does not happen automatically and that correcting it took an inordinate amount of time makes me think that this is intentional on the part of the credit card company as they then can collect the accrued interest. Most people do not have the time this has taken to resolve. If you have your payments on auto-pay, you might not even notice.
