-/-/2014, my husband and I submitted a letter to Debt Recovery Solutions , LLC to provide proof of a debt they were trying to collect on from -. In -, my husband called - and they stated they had to record of such debt. We received a letter dated -/-/- that our debt was held by - ( same information, no proof that we owed the debt ). I called -/-/- and spoke to - about the debt. He said - - would call me back that night. She did n't. I called again on -/-/- to follow up since I had n't heard anything. Spoke to -. He said that - - was on vacation. I asked if she were on vacation for the past - days. He just stated she 's on -. He tried pulling up the account. He initially said that he could n't pull up the account with the account number I gave him and wanted my social security number. I refused to give it. He tried the account number, brought it up and looked at the account. I explained that I want, not verification of this debt, but PROOF we owed the debt. He


'll pay it, but otherwise we do n't feel it 's a valid debt. In the course of this interaction and asking for proof, - told me that the burden of proof is on me, that they do n't have to prove I owe the money. I explained that from my research, it seems they need to be able to prove I owe the debt. He said that he would have a manager call me back in - hours, but I pointed out that I 've already waited - days for a return call. I have asked that they provide a letter from - stating that we owe this debt, not just to verify the debt. - eventually said, he was n't going to talk about it any more and said he was going to cut off the call, which he did.
