GE Capital Retail Credit card department,
Closing/Cancelling account Pennsylvania
I opened a credit card from JCPenny in approximately -/-/- which at the time when the initial credit line was given the owner of the line of credit was GE Capital. I have faithfully paid for my credit balance since that time and even recently paid off the complete balance toward the beginning of this year -/-/-. It was at this time when Synchrony Bank acquired the accounts from GE for all JCPenny accounts. I was recently notified after the fact that Synchrony Bank had closed my account without relevant reason and without provocation or even my consent or knowledge. Without my consent or knowledge they obtained my current credit score which is what they stated they used to determine to close my account which negatively affected my credit standing even further and again without provocation.
