Amex Credit card department,
My minimum payment of $80.00 was due to American Express on -/-/15. I made the payment early on -/-/15 in the amount of $3000.00. I had already made my - payment on -/-/15 in the amount of $100.00. They applied BOTH payments to the - payment even though the -/-/15 payment was after the due date and then considered the -/-/15 late. I contacted them when I received notification of a late payment and a late fee of $27.00. I explained to them the $3000.00 payment was the - payment and they needed to apply it correctly and remove the late fee. They told me the system would n't let them move the payment to - nor would it let them remove the late fee. I spoke with - different levels of customer service as I was completely stunned that they could not do this. They said they understood but just could n't do it. They also advised me I would get an increase in my - due to this late payment. I received that letter in the mail telling me I had a mandatory rate increase due to late payment. I also was told I had to pay $150.00 and the late fee by -/-/15. I stated I was concerned about them reporting delinquency to the credit bureau when this was all their system 's inability to move a transaction from - month to another.
