- - and its credit card provider US Bank recently engaged in a bait and switch '' tactic which lured me ( and other ) customers to sign-up for their - - - - - - - ( requiring a $75.00 fee ) by promising a benefit which they then replaced by a significantly lesser benefit within - days. - - recently removed their much-touted benefit of a bonus night on award stays. This benefit was clearly advertised as BONUS AWARD NIGHT E-CLUSIVELY FOR CARD MEMBERS & ENJOY THE BENEFIT AFTER PAYING $75.00 ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP FEE ''. Based on this _promise_, I paid the membership fee ( $75.00 ) on - -, 2015 and met all spending requirements. - - announced it was rescinding the promised bonus award night and replacing it with a different award worth significantly less. In addition to the membership fee, my credit rating was diminished due to the hard credit inquiry imposed by US Bank. All of this occurred within a time period that made it impossible to gain the originally promised award bonus.
