U.S. Bancorp Credit card department,
Advertising and marketing Washington
I have a US Bank - - credit card. The card has an annual fee that is not waived. The card at the time of collection of annual fee had advertised a feature called - night free, so if one would redeem points for a night at a hotel, the subsequent night was free. The annual fee was justified with this perk. However in - they abruptly removed this feature. They also refused uniform compensation for the said removal. Multiple people have claimed a refund of annual fee for the year and - total points as compensation being given by US bank to them. Ofcourse I can not validate the veracity of internet statements, but I have no reason to believe these people are lying. However when I complained at first they just said sorry and offered no compensation. Upon prodding for compensation they offered a mere - points. I understand that product features are subject to change, however when you remove - of your most advertised and valuable perks from a credit card with an annual fee, the compensation to the customers needs to be relevant and in line with changes in product. I am also not happy to see no uniformity in giving customers compensation.
