I had a payment due for a line of credit from a furniture store, I had to pay off the balance before the end of a 6 month special financing. I mailed the check 15 days before the due date for the full remaining balance, now on my latest statement, it says the payment was late, almost 20 days after I mailed it. so now I am subject to a late fee, which will then cause there to be an outstanding balance, where they then will charge me the exorbitant amount in interest on my entire balance at time of purchase. I have made every payment on time or early and my balance would have been paid in full had they not intentionally sat on the check until it was late.
