GE Capital Retail Credit card department,
My - Extras Mastercard was maxed out and I was unable to make payments due to a short period of having little work being self employed at the time. ( Before this time I always made my payments on time and was able to get my card paid down ). I called - and shut the card down at which point they lowered the interest rate so that I could get the card paid down. Everything was going well and after a period of time they sent me a letter saying that our payment agreement and interest agreement was up and that my interest rate would again rise to 18.24 percent. I have been calling to try and speak with someone about this but they just keep transferring me to another number where I go through the same thing. They are giving me the run around and avoiding speaking to me. They keep telling me they are sorry and will connect me to someone who can help and give me numbers to call but I can never get a hold of anyone that says they can help and the numbers they give me are just another number to the main automated payment number. At this rate I will never be able to pay this card off. Interest accounts for - of my payments. How is this legal?
