November 23, 2016 - Due to the information listed on the usa.gov/credit-reports page, I believed that I was entitled to a free credit report from Experian.com ; when I attempted to sign up for an account on their site and realized they were trying to charge me money, I actually aborted the sign-up process and did not complete it, but they nevertheless have been charging a monthly fee of - from my credit card for months while providing absolutely no service or information in return. Here is the issue : I was told by a local government job placement training to check my credit report to enhance my chances of getting a job. I was told to go to -, and that it was a free service. October 14, 2016 - About a month ago, I had a reason to contact the Experian Credit Reporting agency about my credit scores being grossly inaccurate. I have a perfect credit history but they lowered my score to barely acceptable. During that contact, I was asked if I would like a copy of my report for $1.00. June 8, 2016 - I signed up for credit reporting with Experian not understanding that I would be charged a monthly $20.00 fee for the credit report. The month after I signed up, I called my bank and disputed the charge to my credit card.
