Today I attempted to pay off a loan with BB & T on their website ( $8200.00 ). Though that amount was a payment option, it would not let me pay that amount. I received a message that for payments greater than $1000.00 I would have to call, which I did. After several frustrating minutes wading through a voice prompt system, I was finally prompted to enter my payment information. After entering the information, I was notified that I was being transferred to a human being. After remaining on hold for several minutes I was told that I could only pay $5000.00 over the phone, at which time I asked to speak to a supervisor. Again, after remaining on hold for a few minutes, I was told the same thing by this supervisor, who refused to transfer me to a higher supervisor. I explained that this was unacceptable, but then said I 'd make the $5000.00 payment today and the balance tomorrow. At this time she said she could n't log into the system to do it, and put me back on hold. Totally frustrated, I hung up. So, I 'm now being charged additional interest on a loan I simply want to pay off.
