Incorrect information on credit report Account status California

There was an unauthorized charge made to my Master Card credit card account issued by the - - - ( - ) in -, which I refused to pay. After much haggling, I paid off the credit card account IN FULL on - -, - and stopped using the card/account. The - then reported the account as a Charge-Off anyway ; so I wrote to the - and they responded that a mistake was made, but the credit reporting agency ( TransUnion ) STILL has not corrected my credit agency file, even after I submitted proof of my payment to the -, and the credit reporting agency continues to show the credit account as a charge-off! How do I get this problem corrected???
