I 've sent several letters to USCB Corp., requesting owner validation of debt and, ( although the account is in collection ) I was told by the collection agency mentioned above that, " We are not the owners of this debt. We have been hired by - Schools to collect your past due tuition ... '' They went on to say, " You can certainly contact the school directly ... '' I recently learned the FCRA and FDCPA, legislations, and that I have the right to request " documents and evidence as proof that they are legal owners of the debt and that they can legally accept payment on it ''. If the collection agency does not or can not fulfill the request, the debt is supposed to be removed. It is also my understanding, that the collection agent should not suggest I fill out forms to validate the account, or suggest I call the original creditor, to validate that the collection agency is legitimate.
