I applied ( in-store ) for a Macy's-American Express card back in -/-/2016. I have perfect credit, no history of any late payments and what is considered " excellent '' credit. Two I received a general decline letter from Macy's-American Express stating my application was declined for " Insufficient Credit Experience. '' My credit experience is OVER 24 years and I have current, open and active loans and other credit cards. I called the number on the letter, I was referred to another number. Then the representative " - '' could not answer my question on how to address having perfect credit and getting declined. She said my credit report came back blank and could only refer me to -, to obtain a copy of my credit report. I then called Macy 's Corporate/Executive office phone number. I was placed in contact with " - '' at extension -. She called when I did not have a copy of the letter sent to me in hand. She provided her name, callback phone number and extension. She asked me to call her back when I get a copy of the letter. When she called, ( -/-/- or -/-/- ), I was out of town. I returned home after -/-/-, called her back and left her a callback voicemail. On the prior call, she stated there was a " code '' on the back of the letter and she needed that to explain the correct reason for the declined application. I have called " - '' back twice and have not received ANY phone or written communication in response. My issue is that I have active and current credit. I was declined for an incorrect reason and I want the application corrected and a full explanation of what happened.
