Today, I received an alert that my credit report was updated with adverse information. I received this info from - -. I further learned that a collection agency named Allied Collection Services in - -, NV, reported to the - national reporters under my name a claim owing to - in the amount of $1800.00. I have never in my life had any dealings with -. I contacted Allied who up to today have never notified me with any communication regarding this matter, and was told that I needed to file a complaint with my local police, call -, then forward them copies of the police complaint and disposition from -. Before this debt was reported to the credit companies, I was never given an opportunity to dispute this matter and am now being required to straighten it out on my own when my credit has already been tarnished.
