Strategic Alliances, Inc. Debt collection department,

I do not know False statements or representation Attempted to collect wrong amount California

-, a representative from First Financial Asset Management, called me from this number : -, to collect a debt that is not mine. Additionally, this company and representative did not do ANY due diligence prior to contacting me ( or they would have known not to contact me ). How can it be legal for them to contact me, ask " what am going to do about a bill he 's looking at '' that I am not responsible for in any way?? How can it be legal for him to contact me and not be fully knowledgeable of the purpose of the call? How can it be legal for - - to pass on my information to a collection agency, when they should know the details and know I am not responsible for this debt? Please advise.
