I am an educator that went back to school in - to earn additional certification as a teacher. I have paid this loan when I had work. Unfortunately, many school districts have seen cuts of - or more from -. Since -, the situation has become much worse. I have been turned over to a debt collector, Performant, that harassed me with multiple calls daily this fall. They have misrepresented how I could qualify for a loan rehabilitation program by having different reps tell me different things. When I asked for them to send me paperwork to do this, this did not arrive until the first week of - even though this request was made just before -. When I called before -, which is what I was told to do if the materials did not arrive, not only did the different reps I talk to always tell me an entirely different story, but one even said in an extremely sarcastic and mean voice that I " need to check my mail ''. This was not helpful and everything else this rep told me was different than


being to talk to, even though I was told to call promptly when I recieved this information. When I asked to speak to " - - '' ( name on demand letter ) I was immediately transferred to a phone for a woman with the last name of -. I offered to start sending in payments promptly so that I could qualify for a loan rehab program, but all I get is a run-around, paperwork is not promptly sent, it is not possible to get hold of a human being that can tell me accurate and consistent information ( I ca n't get hold of a human being now that I got the letter in my hand ), and I am being denied an opportunity to make payments to qualify for a program that would resolve this issue. This is harassment as I repeatedly find that Performant has no intention of helping me yet they have harassed me with multiple phone calls daily ( before - ), are rude and sarcastic when I talk to them, do not tell me truthful and consistent information, and appear to have no intention of letting me get on top of this problem.
