Amex Credit Card Complaint

Unsolicited issuance of credit card

Amex Credit card department,

Unsolicited issuance of credit card

American Express continues to send me emails informing me of my application for a new card or a replacement card. I have not applied for a new card. However, when calling the company to let them know, they insist upon me telling them my personal information ( SS # and address ) which I feel uncomfortable doing since I do n't know whom the email actually came from ( and whether it 's a phishing scam ).
