I have a unsubsidized Stafford loan from college of $7500.00 that I did not receive any communication about for nearly six years while I was in - -. Then I get a letter in the mail after six years of no communication stating that I owed Nelnet an extra $3500.00 in loan interest. Had I been reminded of my loan status or amount of loan interest, I would have begun repayment earlier and not incurred as much interest.
