On -/-/2016, I went to the Citibank branch located in -, - ( - - - ) at approximately -. I attempted to deposit a third-party check into my Citigold account endorsed to me by the payee ( my fianc, who also has an account with Citibank ). At least monthly for the last year, I have made this deposit without incident. I was initially told by the teller that Citibank does not accept third-party checks. I requested to speak to the Citigold representative, - -. I asked - - if he could look up the third-party policy and let me know what it says and I asked if there had been a recent change. He stated he did not know and was unwilling to look it up after several request. I asked to speak to the manager, -. -. - - gave very terse responses when I asked if he would call the payee and verify with him directly or look up the policy and explain to me what it says. At this point, it was -. - - stated there was no third-party check policy at all and that he makes the final decision and was not willing to accept my deposit. However, he gave no additional reason ( s ). I left the bank feeling like I had been treated like a third class citizen. Feeling like what I was told was untrue, I logged into my Citigold account and searched for the client manual. There, on page -, under " Check Cashing, '' it states " Third Party Checks. In certain instances, we may allow you to cash a third-party check ... .at a Citibank Branch up to the available balance in your account using your Citibank banking card as identification. '' This was beyond upsetting as I blatantly lied to and refused rights listed in the Citibank Client manual. Neither the Citigold representative nor the manager bothered to look up my account balance ( $ - ) or ID me through my bankcard. I was deceived and treated unfairly.
