JPMorgan Chase & Co. Credit Card Complaint

Credit line increase/decrease

JPMorgan Chase & Co. Credit card department,

Credit line increase/decrease Virginia

I have - Chase credit cards. Most I have held and used for over 12 years. I have always made my payments and have never been late on any card. Just recently, I paid - of my accounts to zero. I occasionally use my cards for tuition or vacation ( large purchases ) and pay them down. Unknown to me, they did an account review and dropped my credit card limits from $ - to $1000.00 and $2000.00. My goal when I paid the cards off this time was to improve my credit score. I understand that when you have a card, the credit agencies calculate your balance to the credit limit. By reducing my credit limit, Chase could cause my credit score to go down! If I were a problem client, missed payments, misused my credit - I could see this action. Their reasoning is that they think I have too much other outstanding credit. On my other cards, I utilized balance transfers because they have a much lower interest rate than most cards. On ALL of my credit - mortgages, car loans, credit lines, etc. - I have not had a late payment EVER! I have shown that I have consistently ( 20 plus years ) been able to manage my credit. I feel that Chase is harming me as a consumer by lowering my credit limits by potentially affecting my credit score. They have no financial reason to make this decision. I always make my payments and my cash flow is more than sufficient to carry the debt load that I have. I feel that I am being penalized by Chase. If my credit score goes down by this action, they could cause my other credit cards to increase their interest rates and cost me substantially more money. My income is $ - and my debt ratio is 36 %. The income does not even include my husband 's income, which is close to $ -.
