I was given a student loan by - -. The school was a - part institution. I completed the first session, but I never returned for the second session and never signed for the - promissory note. Since, I was paying on the loan and had already disputed payment of the second loan. - - removed the second loan initially, but the school went out of business and changed their name. The new named school sought after me for payment of the second loan. I have disputed this issue time and time again to no avail. I have since started a debt forgiveness program with one of their creditors but I really feel like I do n't owe as much as they 're asking. They had me to contact the original lender which turned out to be a circle of phone calls to automated systems that landed me right back to the collection agency. I admit to owing the first loan and have been making payments for years. I need help with what I really owe and how to go about finding out how much that actually is. I asked the collection agency and they could only produce one promissory note, but told me that the loans were consolidated and that they could not seperate them. What can I do?
