All through - I received robocalls from a female robot urging me to contact Citibank about an " urgent '' problem with my Home Depot account. I do not have a Home Depot account. I called - - - - a Citibank customer service number. I spoke with - - # - - very kind woman who spoke to a few people in " escalation '' to find out why I was being called. She confirmed that I did not have a Home Depot account - there was nothing in the system attached to my phone number ( which IS on the Do Not Call Registry ) or my SS #. Citibank could not explain why I had been receiving these unpleasant, harassing " URGENT '' calls about my credit! I was on hold for approx 20 minutes - and it occurred to me that Citibank employees were being PAID to take my call, but I was not being paid for the time it was taking me to find out why Citibank was robocalling me in error. So I decided to report this to the FTC. It is not acceptable that Citibank is free to robocall consumers. Citibank should be required to have a human being VERIFY that a phone number in their delinquent database belongs to an actual delinquent account. I then spoke with - 's supervisor - - - -, who said there was nothing Citibank could do to compensate me for my time or the upset of receiving these calls. All he could do was apologize. I just do n't think that 's a good enough response. I look forward to your thoughts. The $180.00 I am claiming as a loss reflects the value of my time spent on the phone with Citibank and to type up this complaint. Tack on some more for emotional distress. Thank you!
