I recently closed my Citi Preferred " Thank you '' card because of an issue with a payoff. Once the card was paid off I received an interest charge of less than $40.00 which I was unaware was added. I did not receive notice of this charge and was unaware until I received a call two months later. During this time I have received thtree late fees and my credit report has been affected negatively. My complaint is that these late charges were more than the balance due and were placed only on interest fees added an no principal.
