This is a debt that had past its statute of limitations years ago. It 's no longer on my credit report and was n't there even when I filed for personal bankruptcy in 2008. This company LCS financial called me and told me I owed tens of thousands of dollars and I needed to make a payment. The person on the phone then read me a disclosure at light speed and when I stated that I did n't understand what he said he said sorry to hear that. I told him I currently have no income, - kids and no property so I was n't making any payment not to mention that I did n't understand the debt. The letter said I owed - and the person on the phone said I owed - loans totaling -. I was then told that I had a phone so the whole - kids no job 'excuse ' meant nothing to him. He finally marked it down as a refusal to pay. My husband then called back and talked to a supervisor and he was told that all the legal talk at light speed basically said that they knew the debt expired, they could n't take legal action and they could n't attach my credit report unless I made a payment. They were trying to trick me into hurting myself. It 's not right.
