Amex Credit Card Complaint

Advertising and marketing

Amex Credit card department,

Advertising and marketing New York

I received an offer from Delta - for a Delta SkyMiles American Express credit card. The email stated : " The time has come to plan your next big adventure. Apply now and you can earn - bonus miles after you make $1000.00 in purchases on your new Card within your first 3 months '' I signed up for the card, and spent $1300.00 in the first three months ( see attached credit card statement ). However, after several months, I realized that I had not been credited these points. I called Delta to explain that I had received an email stating the offer, and they forwarded me to American Express. American Express then informed me that they had changed the offer to $2000.00 in the first three months, unbeknownst to me, and that since I had spent only $1300.00 I was not eligible for any points. They asked me to FA- in the original email I received and they assured me that they would follow up. I never received a follow up.

but did receive notification that the email went through. I followed up again in a few weeks and spoke to another supervisor, who informed me that the marketing department rejected my request for the - points that I had been promised in the original email, still stating that the offer was for $2000.00 in spend in the first three months ( despite the offer in the email - I have attached to this complaint ). I cancelled the credit card out of frustration. Please help me do whatever I can to rectify this situation regarding the fraudulent and misleading email I received. This has resulted in a loss of $500.00 worth of airline miles to me directly, in addition to 5 hours of time.
