I had an unauthorized transaction on my checking account and the bank said I should stop payment on my mortgage payment because with the unauthorized transaction the payment would have bounced. I was never told that it would last 30 days. But even after the 30 day period the stop payment was not lifted which they admitted was a bank error but because of that error it resulted in my last loan modification payment to bounce and for my home to go into foreclosure with additional charges and lawyers fees from the mortgage company
