Medical Cont'd attempts collect debt not owed Debt was paid California
In - of 2013, my wife underwent a procedure at -. I was the primary subscriber for medical insurance with -. - then sent me a check in - 2013 for $350.00 stating that they are not contracted with -, hence they were sending the check to me, so that I could pay them. I cashed the check and then paid - for this amount. After 3 years, I received a debt collection notice from Caine and Weiner stating that I owe - $350.00. I got on a call with - representative and then we conference called Caine And Weiner. The collection agent there would not listen to me and kept accusing me of " unlawful enrichment ''. He said that - directly made the payment to -. I then sent a written response and asked Caine and Weiner stating that it was not my mistake if - sent another payment to - and that - ( through Caine and Weiner ) should go after
I am deeply concerned that Caine and Weiner will report this to the credit agencies without proper due process. I feel strongly that - is resorting to strong arm tactic to cover for their mistake. Need your help. Thanks and regards
