No veteran deserves to go through the nightmare that I continue to live through as a result of a failed attempt to swindle me out of money. I am filing a complaint against Atlantic Coast Mortgage - for completely botching our VA Home Refinance and causing significant harm to my family. - - -, the loan officer for ACM, had previously been with our original home loan provider when we purchased our home 12 months prior. She initially contacted me -/-/- for a " no-cash '' VA Refiance home loan. She had intimate knowledge of my finances and failed to represent herself initially as having left our old mortgage company to work at ACM. That first misled me to believe that I was working with my original mortgage team of who I had the utmost trust and confidence with. The original mortgage team had switched banks before and so I had thought they were just using a new bank. Reluctantly, I moved forward after they had pulled my credit because I was unsure as to whether or not I would be able to switch companies at this point since my credit score would certainly have be affected. 's payment as my loan had moved to underwriting.That same day I would receive an insurance quote from her on behalf of her friend at -, which I did not ask for and makes me question how my information was being managed without my consent. I asked for confirmation to skip my mortgage payment ( -/-/- ) and was told we were good to go. On -/-/-, I was told my file was out of underwriting. On - at around 3pm, I was told to keep my APR I would need $2300.00 at closing or I could take a higher rate for $1200.00 at closing. If my loan was out of underwriting how could my rates change? This was supposed to be a no cash down refinance to begin with. I was told I would need cash at closing because the VA was refusing to raise the loan amount necessary which I would later discover was untrue based on the VA - program guidelines ( Ch - ) which say that their is no cap on a VA refinance. At this point I believe the VA was used as an excuse to to strong arm more money at closing and so ACM could get a higher interest rate. I was in an absolute no win situation with my credit already reflecting a late payment and now would need to give up more money then I was initially going to spend. Without the money to close and due to the general mistrust I had developed with ACM, I chose not to move forward with the loan process. On -/-/-, - reached out again to see if I was still interested, after expressing my frustration she told me she would look into the file and calculations to see if she could correct it. I would never hear from her again and never received - phone call from any ACM representative during this whole process from beginning to end. This has caused my finances to be in completely decimated. I was delinquent on my mortgage and since harmed my credit. I have been completely behind on multiple loans and bills due to this process. I had to borrow money from friends and family. Even worse I was unable for nearly two weeks to pay for my wife 's pain medication for a chronic pain illness she suffers from daily. I continue to struggle as a result of this failed loan and fear I may not be able to ever catch up on my finances. I originally was not going to file a complaint but feel as an - veteran that it is my duty to make sure I do my part in protecting my fellow soldiers and subordinates from ever being effected by a deceptive company such as this one. No veteran should do business with this company.
