Non-federal student loan Dealing with my lender or servicer Trouble with how payments are handled New York

For the past year, Navient, who purchased my - - - from - -, has been applying my entire loan payment, or very high percentages of my payments to interest only. For the past year, I have either paid my loan early, or on time. Most recently, there was an over payment on the account. Navient told me I owed $120.00 for the month. I instead paid $290.00 and Navient applied $43.00 to my principal and $240.00 to interest. There have been no late payments on the account, so there is no reason why they are taking this much toward the interest payment. I have called several times, and each time, I get a different story. Please help me. I do n't know where else to turn.
