I did a balance transfer using promotion checks on my Chase Freedom Card. I was told by the rep that the monthly payments would amount to approx. $100.00. First bill comes in with a monthly payment of $510.00. Called Chase dispute department and the manager was unwilling to change the monthly payment amount despite the information given to me. She kept repeating the company terms of how monthly payments are calculated ( a confusing tangle of options this OR this OR this ). Nowhere on the promotional checks or accompanying letter, or my statement balance does it explain the terms of how monthly payments are calculated. The manager was unwilling to change to monthly payment amount, despite what the Chase rep who did the transfer said. ( I 'm sure this is all recorded ). This is a misleading and a deceptive practice and could lead to financial ruin for the consumer. Consumer has the right to have all the correct information as to make an informed financial decision. Please intervene.
