I used my american express credit card to pay for a bus ticket on - - -. The bus service provider did not provide the bus service and I could not make my trip. When contacted the bus service provider ( merchant ) refused to refund the amount paid. They offered to give me a " voucher '' for half the amount of what I paid. That voucher had lot of restrictions and could only be used for some very high priced tickets and was essentially of no value and I refused. I contacted American Express to dispute the charge. America Express agents repeated failed to file the dispute correctly and kept filing the dispute under different categories randomly. American Express keeps resolving the dispute in merchant 's favor and keeps asking me to contact the merchant directly. I called and spoke to an American Express Supervisor today ( -/-/- ). Her name was - ( Id - location - NC ) and she again asked me to deal directly with the merchant. She conferenced me with the merchant and on explanation of the whole issue the merchant asked me to send them the details in mail ( which I


Express keeps sending me the copies of the tickets sent by merchant. I never disputed the fact that I bought the tickets. What I am disputing is that the merchant did not provide the bus service. Today in our call, - kept insisting that the merchant is not responsible for delays. I have told them that my case is not of delays. In my case, the merchant did not provide the bus service at all. They also say that the ticket was no refundable. I did not ask for a refund because of change in my plans or anything like that. The merchant can not not provide the service that I paid for and was willing to use ( also put a lot of effort to use ) and then say that it was non refundable. The bus broke down less than 5 minutes after departure. The driver lied to everyone and kept every one waiting and no replacement bus was provided. Inspite of my many attempts, the merchant has not answered this question and inspite of that Amercian Express keeps finding in their favor. I lost the money that I used to pay for the tickets and also lost my vacation time because I could not make my trip. I ask that American Express respect my right to dispute in case of services not received and raise the specific questions that have asked in my complaint with the merchant and answer those specific rather then just keep sending me the copies of the tickets I bought and blindly siding with the merchant without providing any reasonable explanation. This is a simple case of me not receiving the service I paid for. thanks
