Discover Credit card department,
Credit line increase/decrease California
I had an account with Discover for nearly 10 years. I recently acquired high balances on all of my revolving credit as I prepared to sell a real estate property. I sold the property and proceeded to pay off ALL my revolving debt, including the balance on my Discover card. within a matter of days, Discover informed me that they cut my credit available from $7200.00 to $900.00 because of data they had from -. They did not even allow at least 30 days to pass to truly verify my current credit worthiness. In fact, I no longer had any credit card debt and was more worthy at this point for credit than I was before. When I called to complain and explain that their decision was based on outdated information, they said I had no other choice than to wait 90 days and request a credit increase. I explained that the decrease should n't have happened in the first place because they were using outdated and inaccurate information to base their decision. It seems as though once they were no longer going to collect interest payments from me, the did n't want my business. Odd timing and poor decision based on inaccurate data. I finally just closed my account with them.
