I have a savings account with Discover Bank. On - -, I submitted a request to Discover to verify an external account I have at - - -. They made - small deposits on Monday -/-/-, then withdrew them out. On - - I submitted a request to transfer $1900.00 from my savings to - - account. Discover bank withdrew it from my account on - -, but sent it through the ACH system with an effective date -/-/-. It posted to my - - account on -/-/-. The Federal Reserve does not debit Discover until the settlement date of the transaction. As a result, Discover held on to my money for 3 extra days and I lost 3 days worth of interest.
