The Huntington National Bank Bank Account Or Service Complaint

Checking account Problems caused by my funds being low

The Huntington National Bank Bank account or service department,

Checking account Problems caused by my funds being low Michigan

Last year the weekend of - -, 2015 there was a glitch in their debit mastercards. Customers were charged twice for their purchases. Huntington did go through and refund all the double charges. - Some customers like me had checks bounce and payments bounce because of the excess of charges caused the account to go negative. I had to pay Return Check Fees to the merchant 's that were sent back. Huntington refused to cover any other merchant fees. Huntington offers a 24 hour grace for checks that may not clear this gives you a chance to go in and get your account caught up. The problem is you do not know if they will give you a chance for the 24 hour grace or not there is no clear guidelines. You are told it is at the Bank 's discretion. I have a disclaimer for the 24 hour grace if - - needs it.

Our account has been in good standing and in - I found out that huntington took my account from a " Huntington - account '' to a " Asterisk Free Checking '' without notice or my permission. I have asked why and they can not answer my question. They tried to say it was to save me money. Which makes no sense because I did n't ask to have it changed. I did not want it changed and was not notified that it was changed. Then on - -, I found out a check I wrote a week earlier was bounced back. I had $14.00 in my account and thought the check cleared. The check was for $35.00 and they sent it back. I called and called and tried to find out why I did not get " 24 hour grace '' and asked why? They said it was at bank discretion ( We have had 24 hour grace for larger amounts ). Immediately I paid the Overdraft fee to bring the account current. On - -, the check went through again. I was charged another $37.00 on the same check. The problem is Huntington refuses to return any money to me. They say they can not return any money because they credited my account too many times. I then asked why I was not offered a 24 hour grace and finally I am told " you overdraft too many times and you are no longer eligible '', I asked why I was not notified? The bank 's reply was " We do not have to notify you ''.
