I took out a credit card about 10 years ago through Providian Bank. I became - a little while after and could not repay the debt. I received a phone call today from a company that said they were trying to serve me papers for a civil suit. Providian is suing me for defrauding a financial institution and theft of goods. Is n't there a time barred issue? I received a letter that said Providian was cancelling the debt but was told that the letter was for a MasterCard and I 'm being sued for a Visa card. I have not been served the papers yet but someone called me to see if I would be home.
