Amex Credit Card Complaint

Balance transfer

Amex Credit card department,

Balance transfer California

On - -, 2016 I initiated - balance transfers with American Express. Money was successfully transferred to one bank ( - ), but the second transfer was unsuccessful ( - ). American Express transferred $1000.00 to - and these funds never posted to my - - credit card. I have waited and waited, and inquired continuously about the funds. Each day, I am told ( by AME- ) that the check has cleared and - is responsible for the missing money. Since AME- insists that the check cleared on - -, I drove to a - branch thinking I 'd be able to clear up the misunderstanding in person. The problem was still not resolved, as - insisted that all they could do was call their " credit card department '' and inquire. On that day, - said that they do not accept electronic transfers and that they are not holding the money. I phoned AME- with the new information, but nothing happened. In fact, they 've claimed on two different occasions that they would open an investigation and have not

that they have also disabled the " online dispute '' feature for this issue as well. After nearly a month of this back and forth, getting transferred from one department to another, and hung up on, I have decided to file this complaint. I have called - and American Express everyday with no resolve. I have asked AME- to confirm receipt of the check by communicating with -. They insist that the receipt is the fact that the check cleared. As well, I have asked - why they have n't notified AME-, with regards to not accepting this particular electronic transfer. They insist that I must ask AME- to trace the funds with their bill pay department. After repeated calls to both companies and no help, I would like to hire an attorney. I am beyond frustrated. Unfortunately, I am caught in the middle of two corporations that rely solely on computers and foreign call centers for all their work.
