CapitalOne has sent me numerous " Pre-approval '' offers. The letter reads in bold that I am " pre-approved for this offer with no annual fee and our lowest intro APR. '' But further down on the back of an accompanying sheet of paper, it explains that a Pre-approved credit card offer is sent to a " well-qualified group of people. Being pre-approved means you meet out initial criteria '' It seems to me that this is " Pre-screened '' not " Pre-approved ''
