Incorrect information on credit report Public record New York

I was offered a job with an affiliate company and my credit was run. On the report there were - cases in the - court where I live with a name that is similar to mine, case numbers - and - for " - - '' that appear to be credit charge offs. Both are not associated with my Social Security. Hireright reported this event as being my cases, with out any disclaimer that they only searched the first and last name and did n't verify that is was not for me. I am in the cusp of not getting an offer now and have lost credibility and standing in my role as Head Of Compliance. I also have not been given a copy of the report that has adverse information on me, which makes it difficult to correct. I called the company who is suing the person with a similar name and was n't given information, and refuses to write a letter to me because the SS is different.
