Wells Fargo Credit Card Complaint

Identity theft / Fraud / Embezzlement

Wells Fargo Credit card department,

Identity theft / Fraud / Embezzlement Pennsylvania

I received an email from Wells Fargo that misrepresented that I called about or applied for a credit card through Wells Fargo. I have a mortgage with Wells Fargo, but because I had never made the phone call about a credit card ( or at all recently ), I assumed that someone was trying to open a credit card using my personal information. For fear that my identity was being stolen, I called Wells Fargo to determine whether there was an application for a credit card, or any other product associated with the Company. There was not. This email is predatory and misleading. I have spent my entire morning during working hours trying to determine whether someone opened a credit card in my name, whether my identity was stolen, and who I would need to contact to file a complaint, etc. This should cease immediately. I called consumer finance gov about this when I received the email and the reference number is -.
