False statements or representation attempted to collect wrong amount
Suburban Credit Corporation Debt collection department,
I do not know False statements or representation Attempted to collect wrong amount Virginia
Me and my girlfriend are in the process of buying a house. I noticed on my credit report that there was a debt for - dollars from 2010 from Suburban credit corporation. I tried having this debt removed for years but they refused, so I just gave up trying. My girlfriend called ( which I 'm not sure is even legal, without getting permission from me ) to have this debt removed, they stated to her " you have - debts, - for - to - and - to - @ - -. My girlfriend stated " that this debt is not ours but she will pay it so it can be removed off my credit report '', they stated they " would remove the debt that is not mine if she paid the balance ''. So she did, they sent us a reciept, and we waited for it to be removed.
exact with the " wording '' of what they were stating, they stated 'they only told us what we owed on the credit report not the total we owed, and they never said they would remove it, we just asked if they could, and they said yes, they would take care of it '', they took care of it by marking it paid and thats not what they explained at all. and then they threatened to put the new debt collections on the credit report if we did not pay them. Which is not mine to begin with I know that debts are to come off after 7 years and unless they were removed, there would be no point in paying Suburban credit and re-ging the debt that is not mine in the first place, when clearly it has to come off in 1 year anyway, and clearly my girlfriend did not know this, she thought she was doing the right thing. I dont know if this is legal or not but I know that we were lied to and then they threaten us with another debt so they can make more money off the people you clearly lied to is not right, and I plan on taking them to court over this matter.
