I applied for a personal loan through LendingPoint LLC. I was notified via email and phone by their employees that I was approved for the loan and I was instructed to send in a paystub, bank statement, voided check for direct deposit, and a copy of my ID. After I submitted these items I received an automated email shortly after stating that they would not be able to grant me the loan that they stated that I was already approved for. I called the employee whom I was working with directly and they gave what may be a valid point about some negative items in my bank statement. But I was told that I was approved for the loan, not that I had to submit further paperwork to be approved. This to me is deceptive and misleading, and I was caught by surprise. I had already begun to make plans to use the funds that I was told that I was approved for, only to be told by them that they would n't grant me the loan. Maybe they tell customers that they are approved, when really they are n't yet, so that the customer will stop shopping for loans and go through them for the loan. Either was I feel like I was mislead, and I gave this company all of my personal information.
