I went to pay my American Express ( AE ) Credit card balanceon - -. I auto paid my balance for the last 5-6 years. using my - account. I gave them instructions to use - account for a payment of $2100.00. On - - I received a notice from AE my bank rejected the payment. I checked the money was still in my - account.


any business with -.She mailed in a check to American Express. The check cleared the - payment. What I found out next shocked me. American Express did not use my - account in - as requested but instead just took the account info from the - Check deposited in - and sent that info in for payment.Of course it was rejected. This is illegal and was certainly not authorized by me. When I called American Express for an answer. They told me I did tell them to use - but there was no record of that account after 6 years of use. Their supervisor - was most very condescending when speaking to me and lied through he teeth about where the new info came from. to protect his -. Some one put that false info in for whatever, who knows? Their employees need more sensitivity training. I feel American Express should be severely fined and I should be awarded a small sum for all their abuse and time spent fixing the problem. training.
