Capital One Credit card department,
I maintain a checking account with - Bank and a - credit card account with Capital One. I used - 's bill payment service to pay my Capital One Visa credit card bill in full but it was credited to my credit card account - day late, resulting in a $25.00 late payment fee plus $25.00 interest. Specifically, I asked for the $120.00 payment to be sent on Wednesday, - -, 2015. According to -, it was delivered on Thursday, - -, but Capital One credited the payment on Saturday, - -. The payment was due on - -, hence the late payment and interest. I complained to Capital One, which agreed to refund the late payment but not the interest. I 'm notifying the CFPB because I ca n't tell which bank - up and I ca n't know whether this is fraud. But it seems very suspicious. Individually, I 'm only out $25.00 and I do n't expect the CFPB to get that back for me. But if this is happening to many people then it could add up to a very large amount of money. I can provide complete documentation if needed.
