Good day, In - of - I found that the Franklin Collection Service , Inc., - - - -, - - -, -, MS -, had placed on my credit a notice of collection from - - - for a debt of $73.00 that is not mine. I contacted them immediately as soon as I found out about the collection attempt. Basically, they are requiring me to prove that the debt is not mine. To date, they have refused to remove this erroneous collection attempt from my credit record. What follows is a recent email that I sent to them : '' To Whom It May Concern, On Saturday I received from Franklin Collection Service , Inc. a copy of an - invoice dated - - for an address in - -, Michigan with my name ( or another - - ) on the invoice. Know that I have lived at my current address in -, Michigan for THREE YEARS beginning in - of -. My current address is - hours from - -,


Prior to that I lived in -, Michigan from - - to - of -. Prior to that I lived in the -, Michigan area all of my life. I have never lived in - -, Michigan or even in - -, nor have I owned or rented property there. Clearly someone has used my name to initiate service at an address that I know nothing about. I have never requested service there, signed anything asking for service there or given anyone my permission to do so. Unless you are able to produce documentation showing that I initiated service at this address in - -, Michigan you are obligated under the Fair Credit Reporting Act to remove the derogatory information that you have erroneously placed in my credit file. My next act will be to file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission. Thank you in advance for your prompt attention in this matter. Please respond to me within - hours indicating how you wish to proceed. If I hear nothing by the end of the week I will file my complaint. " At this point I am frustrated as I am also attempting to secure a mortgage and this issue is causing significant problems.
