Credit card False statements or representation attempted to collect wrong amount

Amex Debt collection department,

Credit card False statements or representation Attempted to collect wrong amount New York

The drop-down menu does not have an option that would be on point with my complaint which is trifold:1 ) During negotiations of the settlement of balance on my credit cards, Amex repeatedly represented and promised that if I entered into a repayment agreement and made all payments on time pursuant to it, my accounts with Amex would be reopened based only on the repayment history. However, when I contacted Amex upon making all - payments on time, Amex refused to reopen my, accounts. 2 ) During the repayment period of 36 months, neither Amex nor their debt collector - - - provided periodic account statements as required by law. In that period of time, I received only - random statements out of the minimum of - which they should have provided to comply with the law ( quarterly frequency is the lowest permissible under the law ).

of such timely verification. Through other sources of information including my credit report, I was able to confirm that in - 2015, Amex reported - of my cards as paid off in full. Giving Amex the benefit of the doubt ( and assuming that they report such information timely ) that card might have been paid off in - 2015 ( if not earlier ). However, Amex continued to collect and apply towards that account a portion of my payment for the months of - and -. Those payments amounted to $140.00, and I believe that that is the amount of overpayment which should have been returned to me.
