Medical Taking/threatening an illegal action Threatened to sue on too old debt Maryland
I was in an accident in -/-/-. I had a lawyer, - - - who was authorized to handle my claim. All my medical bills was forwarded to him. I never received any information on any type of medical bills that were owed. On -/-/-, I was contacted by letter stating : I owed over $4300.00 in medical bills, to - - - - - -, to collect a delinquent debt. I had medical insurance at the time under my parents and car insurance. I was sent to this medical service by my lawyer. I had no intention on going to this company. I figured, I would go to them since the lawyer, worked with this company. I contacted my old insurance provider and the other victims insurance who was at fault. My insurance sent $2500.00, to the lawyer for medical bills. The other insurance, provided a sum of money to the lawyer for medical bills ( waiting to hear back ). I also tried to contact the lawyer at the time and he got his bars taken away ( no longer a lawyer ). I also had a friend who was involved in the accident, who had to get
of my insurance carrier, no information from my lawyer at the time and no accident claim number listed on the bill. I first, thought this was a scam because there is a lot of scams that go on with people owing money. I do not agree with this debt because 1 ) its too old 2 ) my lawyer got his bars taken away. 3 ) I am being harassed, for information that this company should have taken care of years ago. 4 ) They never listed my insurance company, claim number or any information of my accident. If they knew this was accident related, they should have put this information on the medical bill. It is not my responsibility to take down this information. I was not an employee at this medical center. If they did not properly handle their debt in a professional, timely, organized, manner why should I be held accountable for somebody else 's mistakes?
