Yesterday I contacted my credit card company, Discover Card, to understand the calculation behind the interest charge on my - statement? It is a simple question. I requested that they provide me a daily breakdown of how the balance subject to Interest Rate is determined. Yes I want Discover to be fully transparent in how they calculate that number. I also requested that they provide me a breakdown of the how annual percentage rate ( 11.99 % ) is applied to the balance subject to interest rate. They were kind enough to deny of my request however they did give me the verbiage in the credit card statement or agreement. Obviously that is not enough because it is not transparent. I am a visual person and need to physically see and verify what they say corresponds with the mathematical commentary.
