Navient Student loan department,

Non-federal student loan Can't repay my loan Can't decrease my monthly payments Maine

First of all when I consigned these loans I did n't know the difference between federal and private with Sallie Mae. The interest was anywhere from 10-13 %! I begged for consolidation at 4 % when the - were doing that. This is how I found out these were private loans and they did whatever they wanted, they did n't follow federal guild lines. we could not make the huge payments and they would not work with us at all. We defaulted. They are now threatening to attach wages and sue. I would be willing to make reasonable payments if the started over and added 4 % interest to our loan! NO ONE should have the right to charge 12 % interest! My question to you also is, can they attach wages or retirement funds. Thank you for your help. We need to pass H.R -!
