I have been a credit card customer of Capital One for the past 8-10 years and my account was always in good standing. This is also actual my only credit card. I made an online payment over the - - holiday that due to the holiday and week-end time frame it ended up being 1-2 days late. Suddenly with no notice Capital One raised my interest rate from 3.77 % to a 23.15 % rate. This is a 20 % rate increase. I have a good credit rating and would never pay a rate this high. I now ca n't afford the monthly payment the minimum payment jumped to almost $600.00 per month and I ca n't afford this. I have repeatedly called Capital One and was told there is nothing they can do. I even went into their - MD branch their manager - was trying to help me but when he called they gave him wrong info even telling him I never had a 3.77 % rate. That is not true my statement is the proof.
