I became aware of this debt when I checked my credit report for the first time in many years recently. I saw that Southwest Credit System has an amount of $190.00 reported for -, however this was the first time I saw this. I had not received prior notice of this debt, along with account information and what the debt is for. Since I had my identity stolen in -/-/-, I wanted to make sure this is legitimate. I disputed it with - on -/-/- and also wrote a letter to Southwest Credit System requesting verification ( USPS notified me that my letter was received on -/-/-- proof available ). - has not notified me that the agency has responded, and I have not received a response to my letter. I understand that a collection agency does not have to respond to verification requests within a certain time frame, but in this case I was never notified of this debt or what it is for and need verification.
